Edit a Structure With Double-Click

Chemical structures - both the Image and OLE formats - can be edited by double-clicking on the structure, if the General/Event Handling/Mouse Events/Double-click Opens Structure Editor option has been set to True.

 

  1. Select a structure by a mouse click

  1. Double-click on the selected structure.
  2. The structure is opened in the structure editor.

  1. Edit the structure.
  2. Click Ok to save the changes (or Click Cancel to cancel the modifications)

  1. The original format (Image or OLE) of the structure is kept during the Edit process. The assigned ID can also be edited or regenerated during structure editing in the ID Assignment part of Structure Editor.
  2. Please note that Undo/Redo function of Microsoft Office applications cannot be used in structure management.
  3. If your structure is in Marvin OLE format, after double-clicking on it, it will automatically changed to a JChem for Office object if appropriate "Replace OLE with JCO object upon editing" option is set to True.
